Wild and Unruley

I’m wild, unruly, unhinged even — sometimes

I’m difficult, demanding, unreasonable even — sometimes

I am stone

Every break, every tear shed, every betrayal —

strengthening me, building me.

Yet —my soul was born for wayfaring.

I am all in.

All or nothing

An ocean FILLED with the thing

Or a desert — void of it.

Every emotion engulfing me — and all the people that I love — like the smoke from a thousand flames

To be loved — by me

Is all consuming.

I will suffocate you, with my love.

Not to drive you away or overwhelm you,

But because

I can’t help it.

I will pour into you — all of me — in every way.

I will strengthen you, protect you, believe in you, support you, challenge you.

And you will thrive.

My love will change you.

And all my wildness, my unruliness, my unhingedness, my stone

Will be — worth it

If I choose to love you

If I find you worthy

And you cannot make yourself worthy or unworthy,

Because…

MY HEART

it’s the most wild, and unruly, and unhinged part of me.

And once it has made up its mind — you cannot change it

Nothing can untangle it

And it will only be separated from the thing that it loves

By total and complete brokenness

And my heart?

It’s yours.
